Leadership is influence- you are not born with it, you develop it.

My leadership began in Gardena High School, a couple years after I decently mastered what was the English language barrier. After looking at the academic struggles that my own peers where going through that prevented some from graduating, and the low math academic scores of my high school, I began to tutor math after school hours and on the weekends, sacrificing personal time on top of my busy schedule with involvement in my high school soccer team and rigorous schedule with advanced placement classes, but for the betterment of others. At an early age, I understood that leaders are selfless. As a result, all of the peers I tutored graduated high school.

While at UCLA, I formed an intramural soccer team and became captain. More than just skill, it was because of my ability to organize, encourage, and put order in the field we competed year after year, winning a couple of championships and ranking 2nd place in others. I also became heavily involved in the Latino Business Student Association at UCLA, a student organization to help members develop leadership skills and raise awareness of career
opportunities in business. Then, my junior year I successfully led the organization as president and recruited leaders to take a leadership position in
the executive board of the club. We would also tutored and mentored Bell Garden High School students once a week at their school as a form to give back to the community.

In my freshman year, I became involved in the Southwestern Advantage internship program that initiated the footsteps towards the development of my career. For the last 5 years while a student, I worked selling books and software door-to-door100% commission based... Which means I have knocked on over 20,000 cold doors from Washington State to New York. While with Southwestern Advantage I finished in the top 1% of sales reps out of more than 3,500 sales people for 4 years in a row. In addition to that I did this while also personally recruiting and managing a sales team and becoming a co-organizational leader. Thanks to my experiences with the Southwestern Advantage under the Redline division and all the leaders within the company, I successfully learned valuable principles and life skills: teamwork, positive attitude, goal setting, time management, problem solving, public speaking, managing, selling, and the list goes on.

Due to my accomplishments and my ambition to move forward with a big vision in mind, I was offered a position with Southwestern Consulting, a division of the 157 year old Southwestern Company. Now, as a professional sales consultant, I use those very same principles that have made me successful in my everyday life and I refuse to leave the "book field."
